(a) - (b) Please refer to Tabled Paper.
Transportable classrooms are an essential part of the Department of Education's asset management strategy as they allow the Department to meet enrolment pressures at short notice. Transportable classrooms provide the Department with the flexibility to meet school needs and avoid long-term underutilisation of permanent classrooms as community populations fluctuate.
The standard of these classrooms is no different to that of a permanent classroom. All transportable classrooms are air-cooled and provide a comfortable and well-resourced learning space for students.
Early childhood transportable classrooms have built-in toilets for students and staff, a large kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, stovetop and sink, and plenty of storage for students and staff belongings.
