POLICE, RANDOM BREATH TEST STATISTICS
Will the minister instigate a wider inquiry into the matter or does she agree with the Police Union President, Michael Dean, that such rorting is due to naivety rather than an entrenched culture of dishonesty within the Police Service? Mrs ROBERTS

As I said on the public record today, I have been in Canberra at the Australasian Police Ministers Council and intergovernmental committee on the National Crime Authority over the past couple of days, so that, unfortunately, I was not provided with an advance copy of the Ombudsman’s report. I want to take some time to look through the detail of what the Ombudsman said and compare that with the report I have been given by the Police Service and to sit with the Commissioner of Police and determine the adequacy or otherwise of those investigations and also what has been implemented as a result.
