WA Country Health Service (WACHS) has a clear and structured process for managing and reporting asbestos-related concerns, in line with internal policy and obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WA).
Under the WACHS Asbestos Work Procedure, staff are required to report any suspected asbestos hazards directly to the nominated responsible officer at the site, and appropriate action is taken to ensure timely risk mitigation and compliance with health and safety legislation.
WACHS manages asbestos across its facilities through regular inspections, site-specific risk assessments, internal audits, and remediation works as required.
