Last week the minister answered a question asked by me about the Waroona Dam. The answer proved to be false. The minister later advised me that he had written to the Water Corporation asking why inaccurate information had been passed to him to be relayed to the Parliament. Has the minister received a response from the Water Corporation; and, if so, will he table the response? Hon N.D. GRIFFITHS

I have received an explanation from the Water Corporation, and I have given instructions that correspondence be prepared, enclosing that response, to be sent to Hon George Cash. However, as Hon George Cash got in first and has asked me the question, perhaps I will not need to send him the letter. I table a copy of the response - I have retained the original on file in my office - dated 9 November 2001, addressed to me from the Managing Director of the Water Corporation. The response is an explanation of the answers that were proffered to me last week and on a prior occasion, to which the member referred. [See paper No 892.]
