I refer to the Rail, Tram and Bus Union report into the survey of C-series train drivers, and the comment from Driver 75 stating, "The DAVS are terrible as with all the cameras all you see is movement and you are not sure if people are getting on or off and it is extremely difficult to see station staff on the platform if there is a safety incident", and I ask: (a) does the Government acknowledge issues with the DAVS cameras; (b) in relation to (a), is a fix being applied; (c) if yes to (b), when will it be applied; (d) if yes to (b), at what cost, and who will bear the cost; and (e) if no to (b), are the driver concerns unwarranted?

(a) - (e) C-Series railcars are fitted with external door cameras which are reliable. Drivers are trained in the event of camera view being obscured or not available. This is consistent with the A & B-Series fleet. There are no safety concerns with railcar mounted DAVS.
