I refer to page 670 of the 2009–2010 State Budget, under
New Works
and I ask:
(1) Is the Minister aware of any specific funding proposals for the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA)?
(2) Will the Minister direct his Cultural Centre committee to consider a $19.1 million expansion proposal for PICA?

(1) The Minister is aware of PICA's proposal to create additional space.
(2) The Perth Cultural Centre and Northbridge Link Planning Committee will consider PICA's functional requirements. This will be done in the context of the Committee's terms of reference, which includes: "Achieving an integrated development in the PCC (both commercial and non-commercial) which takes into account the cultural and artistic functions of the State's resident cultural institutions, the WA Museum, Art Gallery, State Library, State Theatre Centre, Perth Institute of Contemporary Art and other facilities."
