(1) Commencement dates for monitoring were as follows:
(a) 11 December 2001 for mammals, amphibians and reptiles, and 23 October 2001 for birds.
(b) 21 November 2001
(c) 6 October 2001
(d)  13 May 2002
(e) 5 June 2002 for epigeous macrofungi.
(2) Rainfall was not measured as part of Forestcheck, and was not used in analysis of data. However Bureau of Meteorology isohyet data for 1960-1990 were used as a baseline to characterise the average yearly rainfall for each monitoring grid.
