I refer the Minister to a question asked prior to the 2022 budget Estimates hearings in 2022 in relation to all programmes available to police officers and staff for mental health support in 2019, 2020 and 2021 and I ask, how many police officers and staff accessed these services in 2022?

The Western Australia Police Force advise that the wellbeing of their workforce remains a high priority for the agency. Encouragingly the stigma of seeking assistance is being irradicated with the much expanded range of mental health support services including: Peer Support (200 Peer Support Officers); Chaplaincy; Counselling; Support/Advice; Welfare Check; Fitness For Duty/Risk Assessment; Pre-Deployment Assessment; Wellbeing Review; Personnel Security Vetting Unit Assessment; Critical Incident Follow-up; Critical Incident Response Period; Pre-Course Selection; Debriefing; Re-Assimilation/Exit Interview; Crisis Support; Training; Triage; Site Visits including Regional WA; Mental Health Framework Training for Agency Executives; External Employee Assistance Program (EAP) (including Regional WA visits) & Preferred Providers; External provision of resilience and self-care programme for Injury Coordination and Support Services employees; Self-Care training for Health Welfare & Safety employees; being utilised on 3,327 occasions. WA Police Force continues to promote and support improvements across the scope of Health, Welfare and Safety services for physical and psychological wellbeing with a 45% increase in service options available since 2019.
