CPD GROUP PTY LTD — INSOLVENCY
423. Ms L.L. BAKER to the Minister for
Small Business:
I have a supplementary question.
These are small businesses and the minister has every right to be interested in
their progress and their non-payment. Given that this is still happening in the
market at the moment, what is the minister doing that is having any positive
impact on these small businesses?

AnswerView source ↗

The legal framework with which the
businesses do their contracts is not something we can quickly adjust to. The
fact is that we know that 97 per cent of businesses in Western Australia are
small businesses.
Mr
D.J. Kelly interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Bassendean, I call you to order for the first time. A
quick answer through the Chair; we are running out of time.
Mr
S.K. L'ESTRANGE : I have already indicated that, given the line of
questioning taken with the Minister for Finance today and the line of
questioning the member for Maylands took with me, I will sit down with the
Small Business Commissioner to see whether there is any space for us to make
legislative change with regard to subcontractors.
Mr
P. Papalia interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Warnbro. That concludes question time.
