The Minister Replied:
(a) This information is currently not available. A number of areas have reported falling groundwater levels under lucerne and these are subsequently used for annual crops. Other areas of falling groundwater levels under trees have yet to return to agricultural use.
(b) This information is currently being determined in the Land Monitor Project, due to report next year.
(c) The Salinity Strategy was released on 2 April 2000. This is the blueprint for State's Strategy to address salinity.
