In relation to the new railway track and turnaround zone to be constructed at East Perth Train Station which you referred to in question time on March 21, 2012, I ask:
(a) what consultation has the Minister or his department undertaken with nearby residents regarding the siting, construction period and operation times of this new track and railway zone;
(b) exactly where will this zone and new track be located;
(c) what is the cost of this new track and zone;
(d) what is the minimum buffer zone required between these new works and nearby residents; and
(e) when will work start and when will it be completed?

(a - e) As a matter of course, the Public Transport Authority consults with local residents where its activities, be it construction or operational, could possibly impact on nearby residents.
Details on location, construction timing and costs will be released publicly as appropriate.
