On behalf of the responsible minister, I thank Hon Brian Ellis for his question. I welcome his question. I believe it is his first question in this place. The Commissioner for Police is responsible for the allocation of police services statewide and allocates resources accordingly. WA Police advises - (1) There is currently no intention to downgrade the station. However, WA Police undertake continual monitoring to determine the ongoing demand for policing services in each police district. Individual police stations are also subject to workload reviews on a regular basis to ensure that available resources have been appropriately allocated. (2) Not applicable. I might add from my own experience that another police station in the immediate area, Dalwallinu, was recently upgraded from two to three officers.
