(2) What is the level of experience of these specialists? (3) How many hours per shift do they work? (4) What is the rate of turnover among these specialists? From 2300 hours to 0800 hours the next day a consultant is on call. On Saturdays and Sundays there is always a consultant on the floor from 0800 to 1800 hours. From 1800 to 0800 hours the next day, a consultant is on call. (2) The four consultants are fellows of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine, for example, as emergency medicine physicians. (3) A day shift consists of nine hours and an evening shift of eight hours. A weekend day shift consists of 10 hours and the consultants work, on average, 40 hours per week.
