FITZGERALD RIVER NATIONAL PARK — FIRE
389. Hon STEVE MARTIN to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Environment:
I refer to the recent fire in the
Fitzgerald River National Park and question without notice 299 asked on 22 March.
How much has the Department of
Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions allocated for fire mitigation in the
Fitzgerald River National Park in the following financial years —
(a) 2020–21;
(b) 2021–22; and
(c) 2022–23?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. On behalf of the Minister for Environment, I provide
the following answer.
(a) Nil.
(b) The department allocated $21 500 to support
mitigation works along the rabbit-proof fence within the park.
(c) Approximately
$50 000 has been allocated to support mitigation works in the northern portion
of the park.
