In relation to the Waterfront Project and the Government's rejection of public submissions to the Metropolitan Region Scheme amendment, I ask:
(a) will the Minister confirm or deny that testing in the Barrack Square - Waterfront Project precinct has revealed buried asbestos, and if not, why not; and
(b) what is the budgeted cost to correctly treat and remove fill from the Waterfront Project?

a) No asbestos was found within the investigated soils in the Barrack Square precinct.
b) The Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority will be issuing a tender to secure a managing contractor which includes the works to treat and remove fill from the Perth Waterfront project. The works are part of the $440million budgeted for the project.
