LOTS 597, 756 AND 782 JARVIS ROAD, BALDIVIS
The question relates to current discussions over lots 597, 756 and 782 at Jarvis Road, Baldivis, and the land swap offer by the government. (1) In the letter to the prospective purchasers, Mr and Mrs Higginson, dated 7 July 2006, the minister stated that valuations would be obtained at the time of the transaction.  Will the minister provide fixed purchase prices for the properties in question? (2) If not, why not? Hon ADELE FARINA

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. (1)-(2) No.  Just as the value of the Higginson properties that are proposed to be reserved are not fixed and will move with the market, so too will the value of the properties that may be purchased from the Wa Planning Commission as part of the exchange package outlined by the minister.  The Higginson and the WAPC properties considered as part of any exchange will be valued at the same time, and that will be when the transaction actually occurs.
