POLICE — CANNABIS OFFENCES
326. Hon Dr BRIAN WALKER to the minister representing the
Minister for Police:
I thank the minister for his
response to my question without notice 214.
Is
the minister able to inform the house how many cannabis-related arrests have
been made in the past calendar year , or in the most recent year for
which data is readily available, and how many of those arrests resulted in —
(a) court appearances; and
(b) convictions?

some notice of the question. The following information has been provided to me
by the Minister for Police.
The
Western Australia Police Force advises that a response cannot be given in the
required time frame. The honourable member may wish to place the
question on notice.
(a)–(b) These
questions will need to be referred to the parliamentary secretary representing
the Attorney General for a response.
