I refer to the answers to question without notice 1540, dated 19 November 2003, and question without notice 1462, dated 12 November 2003. (1) Given that this position is now filled by Associate Professor Steve Allsop, how can the termination of Dr McCotter’s contract produce recurrent salary savings in the long term? (2) Was the termination of Dr McCotter’s contract anticipated in the 2003-04 budget of the Western Australian Drug and Alcohol Office? (3) If so, when was the decision to terminate Dr McCotter made? (4) If not, what Drug and Alcohol Office programs have been reduced or cut in order to fund this termination payment? Hon SUE ELLERY
