465. Hon MATT BENSON-LIDHOLM to the minister representing
the Minister for Education:
I refer to the additional allocation to schools for the
provision of additional non-contact hours for teachers in their first year of
teaching.
(1) What was
the total cost to provide this additional allocation to WA schools in —
(a) 2009–10;
(b) 2010–11;
and
(c) 2011–12 to date?
(2) For how
many teachers was this additional allocation provided in —
(a) 2009–10;
(b) 2010–11;
and
(c) 2011–12 to date?

The information can be provided in school years as follows —
In 2009, $2 957 636; in 2010, $3 114
671; in 2011, $3 339 765; and in 2012, to date, $2 260 700.
(2) (a)–(c)
The Department of Education is unable to provide the exact number of teachers
as the information is collected at a school level for the purpose of payments
to schools. It is not maintained at an individual teacher level.
