With regard to the Environmental Education Discussion Paper released some 12 months ago, and with regard to the level of community input received -
(1) Has the proposal been submitted and endorsed by Cabinet?
(2) If not, why not?
(3) If not, what impediments exist to implementing such an initiative?
(4) When will the Environmental Education proposal be finalised and put into practice?

The Environmental Education Strategy Steering Committee has drafted an Environmental Education Strategy which has been developed taking into consideration the community and key stakeholder input and advice received.

The draft Environmental Education Strategy has not been submitted to Cabinet as further consultation is required between Government agencies to better coordinate a whole of Government response.
3.
The need for more detailed consultation across agencies to deliver a better coordinated outcome.
4.
The Minister intends to announce the timetable for the release of the Environmental Education Strategy once final consultation has been completed.
