I thank the honourable member for some
notice of the question.
(1)–(2) The
draft WA Health purchasing intentions for 2015–16 show a change in
surgical case mix, and the precise set of services to be delivered at
hospitals, including Bentley Hospital, is still under review. It is expected that
a decision regarding the surgical and operating theatre services at Bentley
Hospital will occur at the same time as a decision regarding obstetric
services, as there are operational interdependencies.
(3) The Minister
for Health has given a commitment to assess the Bentley Hospital obstetrics
service six months after the opening of Fiona Stanley Hospital. A decision
about the continuation of services at Bentley Hospital will occur at this time.
