I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) Yes; Rurallink is an after-hours extension of local mental health services to the rural community of Western Australia. SouthWest24 has the contract for managing emergency support calls for mental health issues in the south west region. However, Rurallink does not exclude calls from this area. (2) Rurallink operates from 4.30 pm to 8.30 am Monday to Friday, and 24 hours on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. During business hours the emergency number is patched through to the local service. (3) Rurallink is operated by the North Metropolitan Area Health Service mental health statewide service psychiatric emergency team, which operates out of the WASON building in Wellington Street, Perth. (4) The annual cost of the service is $600 000. (5) One complaint has been registered, in 2006.
