I thank the member for the question and for the work she did with the Rubibi, Hon Tom Stephens and me to bring this matter to conclusion. The outcome has been very positive. The Minister for Health is very pleased that we have managed to reach a very significant agreement with the Rubibi, which will see the 55-bed nursing home built in Broome. It has been an important breakthrough. I was pleased to be able to be in the electorate of the member for Kimberley last weekend to talk to the community about this. The negotiations that took place between the Department of Land Administration and the Rubibi through the Kimberley Land Council were undertaken in good faith by all the parties involved. We put forward a proposal, the land council came back with an alternative tenure arrangement, and we subsequently worked out the detail of it. I will share with members what we have agreed. The agreement will provide that the Government will transfer five hectares of crown land to the Rubibi Aboriginal Land Heritage and Development Trust on a conditional freehold, the condition being that the land is used for the provision of facilities for the aged and disabled. Southern Cross WA Aged Care will then lease the land from the Rubibi and establish a nursing home to care for aged and disabled people. The Rubibi recognise that this is good for Broome and also, of course, for their own people.
