(1)(a) Yes, The Department of Environment Regulation (DER) is not aware of evidence to suggest that the licensee is not currently compliant with its licence.
(2)(a)-(d) Nil
(e) DER has undertaken two pro-active compliance inspections on 21 May 2013 and 30 March 2015.
(f) The licensee implemented a number of corrective actions to address the non-compliance identified by DER during the inspection on 30 March 2015, including:
- installation of containment infrastructure in the form of bunding around a 2,000 litre diesel tank;
- removal and disposal of surface soil that appeared to be contaminated by a spill of diesel;
- removal of vegetation from the emergency wastewater treatment pond and the submission of certification demonstrating that the pond's permeability meets specifications; and
- disposal of carcasses in accordance with table 1.3.4 of licence L7286.
(3) No non-compliance with discharge of odour has been substantiated by DER.
(4)-(5) Not applicable
(6) Complainants reporting transient odours were the stakeholders.
(7) The stakeholders were contacted by DER's officers who conducted investigations that were unable to substantiate the existence of the reported odours. Due to difficulties in establishing the existence of the transient odours, DER has commissioned a formal scientific 'odour field assessment' that is currently underway.
