(1) WorkSafe will be achieving efficiency savings by prioritising travel, training and policy resources.
(2) The occupational safety and health inspection campaigns being conducted by WorkSafe as at 11 March 2009 are:
· health sector - ancillary services;
· education sector - workshops and laboratories;
· chemicals and plastics manufacturing;
· isocyanates in spray painting;
· chrome plating industry;
· residential care services;
· manual handling of meat products;
· olive oil production;
· foundries;
· cabinet makers;
· commercial vehicle driver fatigue;
· boat-lifting;
· hay bailing;
· new and young workers in hospitality;
· labour hire in service industries;
· East Kimberley regional compliance campaign;
· broadacre farms compliance campaign; and
· proactive inspections in the construction industry.
(3) On 13 March 2009, WorkSafe announced that it had launched an inspection campaign in the seafood processing industry.
(a) Inspections are planned to take place in seafood processing facilities in metropolitan and regional areas.
(b) Geraldton, Dongara, Jurien Bay and Lancelin.
