I refer to public housing, and I ask: (a) how many public homes were added to the stock in: (i) June; (ii) July; and (iii) August; (b) how many applications were added to the public housing waitlist in: (i) June; (ii) July; and (iii) August; (c) how many applications were withdrawn from the public housing waitlist, for any other reason other than having been provided a home, in: (i) June; (ii) July; and (iii) August; and (d) how many disruptive behaviour complaints were received by the Department of Communities in: (i) June; (ii) July; and (iii) August?

a)      On average, there are around 125 social homes being added or returned to the system every month in Western Australia. The State Government is adding around 75 social homes per month to the system and completing an average of 50 refurbishments per month to keep existing social homes in the system for the long-term.
i. For the month of June 2024, we have added 34 social homes to the system and 57 refurbishments.
ii. For the month of July 2024, we have added 94 social homes to the system and 36 refurbishments.
iii. For the month of August 2024, we have added 90 social homes to the system and 28 refurbishments.
b)
i. For the month of June 2024, there were 691 applications added to the Public Housing wait list state-wide.
ii. For the month of July 2024, there were 764 applications added to the Public Housing wait list state-wide.
iii. For the month of August 2024, there were 807 applications added to the Public Housing wait list state-wide.
c)      Applications may be withdrawn for a range of reasons including where people exceed income and/or asset eligibility limits, find alternative housing arrangements, have moved interstate or overseas, or at the request of the client.
i. For the month of June 2024, there were 580 applications withdrawn from the Public Housing wait list state-wide.
ii. For the month of July 2024, there were 623 applications withdrawn from the Public Housing wait list state-wide.
iii. For the month of August 2024, there were 581 applications withdrawn from the Public Housing wait list state-wide.
d)      Multiple complaints may be received for a single incident, and by the same complainant or they may be spurious complaints. Additionally, not all complaints constitute disruptive behaviour, such as children playing around the property. The below data represents all complaints received by Communities in the time period requested.
i. For the month of June 2024, there were 1,186 disruptive behaviour complaints received for Public Housing tenancies state-wide.
ii. For the month of July 2024, there were 1,465 disruptive behaviour complaints received for Public Housing tenancies state-wide.
iii. For the month of August 2024, there were 1,322 disruptive behaviour complaints received for Public Housing tenancies state-wide.
