METRONET — WORKS — LAWFUL COMPLIANCE
200. Hon Dr BRIAN WALKER to the minister representing the
Minister for Transport:
I refer the minister to the
responses she provided to my questions regarding PERMAcast, a company
contracted to provide precast concrete components for a number of Metronet
projects, asked on 12 October and 8 November last year. To better understand
the importance of this project, I ask the following questions.
(1) What quantity of precast
concrete components have been provided to Metronet by PERMAcast to date?
(2) What quantity is projected to
be delivered over the lifetime of these projects?
(3) What costs have or are likely
to be incurred as a result of this contract?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following answer was provided to me by the
Minister for Transport.
(1)–(3) Individual
projects procure precast concrete components from several precast facilities,
including PERMAcast. The total quantity of
precast components across the Metronet program delivered by PERMAcast has not been determined. Further, projects are still completing design
processes, which may alter what precast elements are required. Additionally,
final procurement decisions can be influenced by available capacity in
different precast manufacturing facilities at the time of procurement.
