notice 1010 asked on 25 October 2022.
(1) Was any of the more than $62 million collected
through the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Act in 2021–22
that was not allocated to the WARR account spent on waste projects?
(2) If not, what was the money spent
on?

Minister for Environment, I provide the following answer.
(1)–(2) The
Department of Water and Environmental Regulation retains waste levy revenue not
allocated to the waste avoidance and resource recovery account to fund its
services that are not cost recovered. Any waste levy revenue that exceeds the
cost of services is returned to consolidated revenue.
