The Department of Housing advises:
It is assumed that this question is a follow up to Legislative Council Question without Notice 580 asked by the Member on 15 May 2014 in relation to work undertaken in the 14 days preceding the fire.
This Question on Notice does not provide a timeframe.
The following answers are provided in reference to the 14 days preceding the fire as specified in the original question:
(a)-(c) The Department has been advised by ATCO Gas Australia that its personnel were at the complex in Brathwaite Road, Lockridge on Friday, 1 November 2013 and Monday, 4 November 2013 and removed gas meters from the ground floor of the property, none of which were providing service to the unit involved in the incident.
The meters were removed as they were no longer in use.
ATCO has advised that all work was completed in accordance with Australian Standards.
The only other work undertaken within the 14 days preceding the fire was by the Department's maintenance contractors as follows:
(i) Unit 5 - blocked drain cleared on 23 October 2013
(ii) Complex - security lighting to rear of complex repaired on 6 November 2013.
