I refer to the business case for the redevelopment of Royal
Perth Hospital, which has been drafted and is under review by the Minister for
Health prior to presentation to cabinet.
(1) Which
options for the redevelopment of Royal Perth Hospital is the business case
process considering?
(2) What are the terms of reference or brief for the
preparation of the business case?
(3) Will the minister table the terms of reference or brief
for the business case?

business case currently under review by the Minister for Health considers
options that focus on the refurbishment of the existing site.
(2)–(3)
The terms of reference are: Royal Perth Hospital is to become a 450-bed
hospital providing tertiary and specialist services from the Wellington Street
campus; Royal Perth Hospital will continue to provide nationally-renowned adult
major trauma services and will be home to a dedicated elective surgery centre
performing complex sub-speciality surgery, and mental health services, specialist
medical services and a range of same-day and clinical support services will
also be provided; role delineation of clinical services and activity will be
performed in accordance with the ''WA Health Clinical Services Framework
2010–2020'', the Royal Perth Hospital clinical services plan and
the hospital's endorsed purchasing profile; and Royal Perth Hospital
will continue to build on its reputation as a teaching and research hospital.
(4) Not applicable.
