The Department of Education is committed, through the Western Australian Government’s Language Services Policy (the Policy), to provide translating and interpreting language services to assist culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) members of the community gain access to school education services. The Department’s compliance with the Policy ensures that the fundamental public sector values associated with the delivery of fair and equitable services and the achievement of substantive equality are addressed through the use of interpreting and translating services.
Expenditure each year varies due to changes in demand for specific services from schools and the system.
Figures are GST exclusive.
