(d) what improvements to the station will result?
(a -b) The State Government is committed to building a new station at Victoria Park. However, because of the volume of rail work underway in Perth and the specialist skills required to work on live rail, it has been decided to defer tendering for the job until 2006. (c) The Budget is currently being reviewed. (d) The new station will consist of two platforms and a sheltered area. Features will include: · Lifts to provide access to the platforms. · Enhanced public address system. · Provision of a safe area containing emergency telephones monitored by close circuit television. · Full compliance with current disability standards. Because of its close proximity to the Association for the Blind facilities at Victoria Park, a 'tactile map' will be included in the design of the new station to complement a 'tactile map' to be included in a new building being built for the Association.
