I ask this question on behalf of Hon Barbara Scott. The number of students in the education support units at Mt Barker Primary School has risen from 17 at the beginning of 2001 to 26, with predicted further enrolments likely in the near future. There are three separate classes of special needs children and only one purpose-built classroom. One group of five is being taught in a caravan. (1) Can the minister assure me that he will investigate the matter urgently? (2) (a) Will the Government allocate funding this year to ensure that these children with special needs will be appropriately catered for? (b) If not, will additional funds be allocated to this school in 2002? Hon G.T. GIFFARD
