FORRESTFIELD–AIRPORT
LINK — GEORGE DELIU
916. Ms L. METTAM to the Premier:
I
refer to the very disturbing case of Mr George Deliu, who had the skin stripped
off his legs during a major safety incident on the Forrestfield–Airport
Link. After more than a year the Minister for Transport has failed to resolve
his workers' compensation
situation. Will the Premier personally intervene to ensure a timely resolution
to help Mr Deliu?

I
thank the member for the question. Obviously, I have seen the images. I understand
that the Minister for Transport has met with Mr Deliu on these matters.
He is an employee of a private contractor and his case is with an insurer to
that private contractor as we speak. We expect and hope that that insurer will
deal with this matter appropriately and expeditiously.
