I refer to the Western Australian Maritime Museum in Fremantle. (1) Will the minister provide the Parliament with the status of the insurance cover for the Maritime Museum? (2) Was its insurance cover for the structural damage caused by either faulty materials or insufficiently tested materials or for damage caused by other elements? (3) If so, was this insurance sufficient to replace the damaged glass; and, if not, will the government be responsible for the restoration costs. Hon KATE DOUST

(1) The Western Australian Maritime Museum is insured. (2) Yes. (3) The process for claiming damages under the museum’s insurance policy is progressing. The amount will not be determined until the process is finalised, as is the case with the majority of insurance claims.
