(1) The aim of the Government is to work with the aviation industry, the regions and communities to develop strategies to achieve air services for all Western Australians, particularly for intrastate travel, which provide adequate capacity on an ongoing basis.
(2) The Government will be working as quickly as it can to restore capacity to routes within Western Australia but this process needs to relate to the timetable of key events such as the sale of Skywest and the potential entry of new operators.
(3) Western Australians will receive sustainable air services when adequate capacity is restored to our air service routes and they are operated by airlines capable of servicing those routes on an ongoing basis.
(4) The Government will review its aviation policy framework to facilitate provision of sustainable regional air services and any cost to the State will be identified as part of this review.
