I refer to the government's
reviews on waste.
(1) When will the minister table the
reports for —
(a) the review of the waste strategy
on the future of waste and recycling in WA;
(b) the controlled waste review; and
(c) the review of transport of
controlled wastes?
(2) For the recycling activity
review, when will data be available for 2016–17 for —
(a) recycling activity in WA; and
(b) the local government waste and
recycling census?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) (a) The final
waste strategy is not yet available. It is anticipated that it will be
published in November 2018. However, prior to publishing, a draft strategy will
be provided to those who made submissions on the consultation paper, as
required by section 29 of the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Act 2007.
(b)–(c) The
controlled waste review and the review of transport of controlled wastes are
the same review. It is anticipated that the Department of Water and
Environmental Regulation's consultation summary on consideration of
submissions and recommendations from the review will be completed for
publication in December 2018.
(2) (a)–(b)
Both the recycling activity in Western Australia report and the local
government waste and recycling census for 2016–17 are anticipated to be
published on the Waste Authority's website in October 2018.
