I refer to the parents, guardians and other primary carers of children with cancer and ask, with reference to the Perth Children's Hospital: (a) will the parent/carer room for those whose children have cancer, be dedicated for those parents only, or will it be used by other parents with children in the new Perth Children's Hospital; (b) will the parent/carer room have a fully functioning kitchen; (c) will the parent/carer room have a washing machine and dryer (noting that nausea and vomiting is a common side effect for children undergoing chemotherapy); and (d) will the parent/carer room have locker facilities?

(a) The parent room is dedicated primarily to oncology parents. Discretionary access will be given to parents from Ward 1B (burns, plastics, orthopaedics). This discretionary access has been discussed with the oncology patients’ families, who are supportive of this model.
(b) The parent room will feature a range of amenities, including:

(c) No. All parents of Perth Children’s Hospital patients will have access to comprehensive parent accommodation facilities on Level 5, incorporating:
