I refer to the convention to permanency of staff of the Western Australian Public Sector, and I ask: (a) how many public sector staff have been converted to permanency under the Government's policy to convert existing contract and casual staff to permanent roles in the following years: (i) 2020-21; and (ii) 2022-23; (b) as at 18 September 2023 what is the total leave liability on the books for the States part time and full time public servants; (c) is there an additional leave liability created by the policy to convert existing contract and casual staff to permanent roles; and (d) if yes to (c), what is the value of it?

(a) Commissioner’s instructions were issued in 2018 to support the conversion of existing non-permanent employees. Data was collected between August 2018 and 30 June 2021, during which time 15,496 employees were converted to permanent employment.
