In mid February the Ministry sought endorsement of the Implementation Strategy, which has since been received from DOLA, CAMS, Treasury and Department of Planning. Conditional support was expressed by the City of Perth. The Heritage Council provided comment on the Strategy in March stating that it will require each development proposal to be submitted separately for approval. (2) The Government is currently examining options regarding the redevelopment of the Cultural Centre. No decision has been made at this time.

(1) The Ministry for Culture and the Arts has developed the Implementation Strategy for Stage 1 of the Comprehensive Development Plan, completed in December 2000. This document was amended in February in response to comments from the Cultural Centre Working Party.
