MENTAL HEALTH CARE — Rex Bellotti Junior
My question is about the mental health care circumstances of Rex Bellotti Junior. (1) Has Mr Bellotti had access to trauma counselling or mental health care for the duration of his hospitalisation? (2) If yes to (1), on how many occasions? (3) If no to (1), why not? (4) If counselling or mental health care has been provided, has it been provided by person with cultural awareness training? (5) How many counsellors and/or mental health workers employed by the Department of Health have cultural awareness training? The minister has provided the following answers — (1)-(4) Due to patient confidentiality issues, the information requested cannot be made public without prior permission from the patient or his guardian.
