782. Hon KEN TRAVERS to the Leader of the
House representing the Minister for Energy:
(1) Can the
minister confirm that Mr Blair Stratton received a redundancy payment of $112 788
from Synergy in March 2014; and, if not, what was the amount?
(2) Is the
minister aware that Mr Stratton received an earlier redundancy payment of $83 000
when he left the former Minister for Energy's office less than six
months before being employed by Synergy?
(3) Is the
minister aware of the 2010 investigation by the Public Sector Commissioner into
bullying complaints involving Mr Stratton?
(4) Has Mr
Stratton been offered a job in the minister's ministerial office; and,
if yes, what is the position and total remuneration?
(5) If yes to
(4), what is the estimated payment Mr Stratton will be eligible to receive if
he is made redundant following the March 2017 state election?

(4) Yes; principal policy adviser—$150
689 per annum.
(5) Following the
2017 state general election, Mr Stratton will be eligible for an
end-of-contract payment in accordance with the terms of his contract. The
employee shall be entitled to the following compensation: four weeks'
salary; a lump sum equivalent to two weeks' salary for every year of
continuous service to the Western Australian government, up to a maximum of 46
weeks; and a lump sum equivalent to any accrued leave together with pro rata
annual leave and pro rata long service leave.
