GERALDTON HOSPITAL — DIALYSIS SERVICES
974. Hon MATT BENSON-LIDHOLM to the minister representing
the Minister for Health:
I refer to the provision of dialysis services at Geraldton
Hospital.
(1) How many dialysis machines are provided at Geraldton
Hospital?
(2) How many dialysis patients regularly receive treatment
each week at Geraldton Hospital?
(3) What is
the number of FTE nurses currently operating dialysis machines at Geraldton
Hospital?
(4) Does
Geraldton Hospital have a waiting list for patients wanting to utilise the
hospital's dialysis machines; and, if so, how many people are on the
list and what is the current expected waiting time for those on the list?
(5) How many Geraldton residents travel to Perth on a regular
basis to access dialysis services?

I thank the member for some notice of this question. The
following information has been provided to me by the Minister for Health —
(1) Nine chair service.
(2) Thirty patients.
(3) There are
8.73 FTE.
(4) There are
six people on the waitlist for renal dialysis at Geraldton Hospital. These
patients are continuing to be dialysed in Perth until a vacancy arises locally.
(5) Four Geraldton residents are currently travelling to
Perth for renal dialysis.
