ALCOA - SUPPLEMENTARY PROPERTY PURCHASE PROGRAM
I refer to Alcoa’s purchase of properties under the supplementary property purchase program. (1) Is Alcoa paying full stamp duty for houses it is purchasing under the SPPP? (2) If no to (1) - (a) why not; and (b) what is the government’s reasoning behind exempting Alcoa from stamp duty but not exempting individuals party to the SPPP who have to purchase a home subsequent to selling their property under the SPPP? Hon KATE DOUST
