SMALL BUSINESS CENTRE PROGRAM
698. Hon DARREN WEST to the Attorney
General representing the Minister for Small Business:
I refer to the review of the small
business centre program and the decision by the Minister for Small Business to
move to an open tender process for the delivery of services to the business
community.
(1) Is there a
requirement that local businesses based in the wheatbelt, midwest, Gascoyne and
Pilbara that seek advice through the new provider, RSM Bird Cameron, become
clients of that provider?
(2) Is there a
clause in the contract between the government and RSM Bird Cameron to protect
users of the business advice service against any pressure to sign up with RSM
Bird Cameron?
(3) What other
actions has the minister taken to ensure that there is no conflict of interest
in awarding RSM Bird Cameron this contract?
