The member needs to learn how to read the budget papers. Several members interjected. The SPEAKER : Order, members! Ms S.M. McHALE : As I said on Tuesday, the government has made a record allocation of $50 million to the tourism budget. This is the first time that the tourism budget has gone over $50 million, and the government has delivered. Let me remind the opposition of just what the government is delivering in tourism. Several members interjected. The SPEAKER : Order, members! Ms S.M. McHALE : If the member wants to listen, I will tell her. Does she want to listen? Ms K. Hodson-Thomas interjected. Ms S.M. McHALE : I thank the member. There is an additional $10.5 million over the next two years to continue marketing. That is new money. There is an additional $10.5 million commitment over the next four years to develop and maintain tourism e-marketplace to ensure that Western Australia remains at the forefront of global tourism. For the first time, a specific commitment has been made for an indigenous tourism strategy. Nearly $880 000 will be allocated over the next four years to the strategy, which is designed to foster indigenous tourism. Again, if the member would like to listen to the answer - Several members interjected. The SPEAKER : I call the member for Cottesloe and the member for Vasse to order. Ms S.M. McHALE : As I said in the house on Tuesday, although the opposition cannot see that the government has increased the budget, those organisations whose opinions we value recognise the importance of the tourism budget.
