(1) How many accommodation facilities - group homes, duplexes, single-person dwellings, or whatever - are run by agencies funded by the Disability Services Commission? (2) What is the total number of persons with a disability accommodated full-time in accommodation managed by DSC-funded agencies? Hon ADELE FARINA

I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) A total of 155 facilities that cater for more than one person are run by DSC-funded organisations. There are many individuals who live alone and are provided with accommodation support. Their homes are not counted as facilities, as these people either have individual tenancy arrangements or own their own home. This does not include self-managed options. (2) The total number of people provided with accommodation support by DSC-funded organisations was approximately 1 750 at the end of the 2003-04 financial year. Many of these individuals do not have full-time support as this is not required to meet their needs.
