I thank the honourable member for taking an interest in education. Busselton is an area of significant growth, and obviously it is experiencing significant pressures. Several members interjected. The PRESIDENT : Order! I am having difficulty hearing the minister. I do not want Hansard to have difficulty in hearing the minister. I would have thought that members would know by now that the more they interject on ministers answering questions, the longer the answers tend to take. Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH : I know that Hon Barry House is very interested in this answer, because Busselton Senior High School, as he would be aware, has undergone an infrastructure upgrade. The total cost of the work was $200 000. It has had a major impact on the school and the way in which the students care for and take pride in that school. The improvements included new carpets in the resource centre, and new tiles in the science office and storerooms. I understand that this work was long overdue. In addition, the classrooms have been painted with bright fresh colours and new carpets have been laid. Repairs have also been carried out to the perimeter fence facing onto Bussell Highway and at the school entrance. The tiled roof has also been cleaned, which has added to the overall appearance and improvement of the amenity. The work was funded by the Carpenter government’s $65 million Fixing our Schools project; this was one of many schools that has benefited from that project. I am pleased that so many government schools throughout the state have really benefited from this program. The funding is over and above the normal budget allocation, and I know from my visits to schools how pleased they are to be in receipt of that additional funding so that they can undertake some of the maintenance and repair work that had been neglected by the previous government.
