(2) As part of the funding received by the Department of Conservation and Land Management for implementation of the Government’s ‘Protecting our old-growth forests’ policy, funds have been allocated for several new positions to assist the forest regions and districts in preparing area management plans for the new national parks being created under the policy, including the Walpole Wilderness Area.
