I refer to the Hansard from 14 August 2012 p4747c-4750a, where the Hon. Donna Faragher, in discussing Lottery West, stated: ‘(consumers) cannot spend more than $200 per week’, on online Lottery West purchases and ask: (a) since the introduction of internet sales has there been discussion to amend the $200 per week amount and if so for what reason; (b) currently, what is the total amount consumers can spend per week on online sales; (c) if this amount is more than $200 per week when was the amount amended; (d) if the amount has been amended what studies have been undertaken with respect to the impacts on retailers; and (e) if the amount has been amended what studies have been undertaken with respect to the impacts on gamblers?

(a) Yes, due to negative feedback from players and comparison with other lotteries' spending limits which are the same or higher than the Lotterywest  limit.
(b) $500.
(c) September 2013.
(d) The impact on retailers has been monitored and suggests minimal if any impact on the retail network.
(e) Regular reports are provided by the Problem Gambling Support Services Committee, of which Lotterywest is a member. None of these reports have identified any specific issues about the impact of the spend limit change on problem gambling behaviour.
